Scripture

Matthew 9

35 Jesus traveled through all the towns and villages of that area, teaching in the synagogues and announcing the Good News about the Kingdom. And he healed every kind of disease and illness.

36 When he saw the crowds, he had compassion on them because they were confused and helpless, like sheep without a shepherd.

37 He said to his disciples, “The harvest is great, but the workers are few.

38 So pray to the Lord who is in charge of the harvest; ask him to send more workers into his fields.”

Observation

“The harvest is great, but the workers are few. So pray to the Lord who is in charge of the harvest; ask him to send more workers into his fields.” What we have in India is a shortage of Christian workers and we have the same problem in the other Middle Eastern and North African countries too! This is not the case any longer in China where it is said that there are 30,000 new believers everyday.

The harvest is great …so there is not anything wrong with the harvest. The problem is too few workers to bring in the harvest. This is a problem that is solved by praying to the Lord of the harvest and asking Him to send laborers into His harvest. Careful …that prayer could send you to the other side of the world to help!

Application

I will continue to pray to the Lord that He send laborers to India and other places where the Gospel is needed.

Prayer

Heavenly Father, I do pray for India and I ask that You send an army of believers to that country to help reach that nation. It is a country that is still so unreached. I pray for Millie and Hugh that go there every year that you bless them and help them to continue going and I pray that you provide them with the support that they need and with more people to help them. You are the Lord of the harvest.
