Be Like The Lord Jesus Christ

So When People See What You Do

They Will See Christ!

Scripture

Romans 13

¹⁴ But be like the Lord Jesus Christ, so that when people see what you do, they will see Christ. Don’t think about how to satisfy the desires of your sinful self.

Observation

If we lived by this verse what a difference it would make in our lives! We have been saved (those of us who are believers in the Lord Jesus Christ) so that the world can see Jesus in us. We are to be a reflection of the Lord Jesus Christ.

When we are trying to make decisions about some of the gray areas of life like: social drinking, smoking, prescription and illegal drugs, gambling etc. we should ask ourselves this question, “Will this action help others see Christ in me?”

It is always interesting how we often want to justify a certain action by saying, “Well the Bible doesn’t actually say it is wrong.” What we should be using as a measuring stick for whether we doing something or not - is Romans 13:14, “But be like the Lord Jesus Christ, so that when people see what you do, they will see Christ. Don’t think about how to satisfy the desires of your sinful self.” 

Application

I will strive to live like the Lord Jesus Christ today so that others can see Jesus in me! 

Prayer

Heavenly Father, help me live like Jesus today so that others may see Jesus in me!
