Observation

Today in both Deuteronomy and in Psalm 40 I read about the same thing! If you and I follow the Lord then our lives will be filled blessing and joys, but if we don’t then we choose life full of curses and disaster. 

Hmmm! What a hard decision but I choose joy and prosperity. Today I choose to follow the Lord. I choose obedience rather than disobedience. 

To me it is a no-brainer – how about you?

¹⁵ “Now listen! Today I am giving you a choice between life and death, between prosperity and disaster. ¹⁶ For I command you this day to love the Lord your God and to keep his commands, decrees, and regulations by walking in his ways. If you do this, you will live and multiply, and the Lord your God will bless you and the land you are about to enter and occupy. Deuteronomy 30

Application

 I choose to obey the Lord today. How about you?

Prayer

I waited patiently for the Lord to help me, and He turned to me and heard my cry. He lifted me out of the pit of despair, out of the mud and the mire. He set my feet on solid ground and steadied me as I walked along. He has given me a new song to sing, a hymn of praise to our God. Many will see what he has done and be amazed. They will put their trust in the Lord.  

Oh, the joys of those who trust the Lord, who have no confidence in the proud or in those who worship idols. O Lord my God, you have performed many wonders for us. Your plans for us are too numerous to list. You have no equal. If I tried to recite all your wonderful deeds, I would never come to the end of them. Psalm 40:1-5
