God Leads Us
From Place To Place
In One Perpetual Victory Parade

Once referred to as “infidels,” these Christians are now being affectionately called, “the Bible people.”

Scripture

2 Corinthians 2

14-16 In the Messiah, in Christ, God leads us from place to place in one perpetual victory parade. Through us, he brings knowledge of Christ. Everywhere we go, people breathe in the exquisite fragrance. Because of Christ, we give off a sweet scent rising to God, which is recognized by those on the way of salvation—an aroma redolent with life. But those on the way to destruction treat us more like the stench from a rotting corpse.

Observation

I am sure that you have heard and hopefully have prayed for all the Christians being killed in the country of Syria. Over 100,000 people both Muslim and Christian have lost their lives in Syria. Over 2 million have fled the country seeking refuge in other countries.

I read this morning that through the boldness of Christian workers who have been providing medical supplies as well as Bibles, transformation is happening among the Syrian people. Once referred to as “infidels,” these Christians are now being affectionately called, “the Bible people.” A Syrian contact person for the organization, “Voice of the Martyrs” states, “Today in Syria, I’m not talking about one person. We’re talking about hundreds and even thousands of Muslims coming to know Christ.” (Taken from Voice of the Martyrs website - prayer requests for Syria)

“Everywhere we go, people breathe in the exquisite fragrance. Because of Christ, we give off a sweet scent rising to God, which is recognized by those on the way of salvation –an aroma redolent (sweet smelling) with life.”

Lets pray for the Persecuted church and let’s be the sweet smelling aroma of Christ to those who come across our paths today.

He is risen! He is Risen indeed!

Application

I will pray for the persecuted church today. I will strive to walk close to the Lord today so that I may attract people to Him.

Prayer

Heavenly Father, I do pray for Your church today. I especially pray for believers in Muslim countries who are being persecuted for their faith. Give them boldness and the strength to be Your witnesses in these dark places. They are my heroes. I pray for Christian workers who are risking their lives in these difficult places to help people with medicine and by giving them access to Bibles. Bless them. May Your face shine on them. Protect them and empower them to accomplish all that they need to do for You. I pray for my family members that need to know You as Savior and Lord. Soften their hearts today.
