That Is Why We Never Give Up.
Though Our Bodies Are Dying,
Our Spirits Are Being Renewed Every Day.
2 Corinthians 4
16 That is why we never give up. Though our bodies are dying, our spirits are being renewed every day. 17 For our present troubles are small and won’t last very long. Yet they produce for us a glory that vastly outweighs them and will last forever!
18 So we don’t look at the troubles we can see now; rather, we fix our gaze on things that cannot be seen. For the things we see now will soon be gone, but the things we cannot see will last forever.
Observation
Feel
like giving up, then you need to take time to read 2 Corinthians 4 and let
God’s Word pick you up and get you back on track!
The
Apostle Paul says, “What’s important right now is not what we can see. What we
can see is not going to last very long, but what we can’t see that is going to
last forever!”
7 We now have this light shining in our hearts, but we ourselves are like fragile clay jars containing this great treasure. This makes it clear that our great power is from God, not from ourselves.
8 We are pressed on every side by troubles, but we are not crushed. We are perplexed, but not driven to despair. 9 We are hunted down, but never abandoned by God. We get knocked down, but we are not destroyed. 10 Through suffering, our bodies continue to share in the death of Jesus so that the life of Jesus may also be seen in our bodies.
Perspective is everything!
The Apostle Paul was able to endure a lot of hardship because he knew that there was something better waiting for Him.
The writer of Hebrews puts it this way in Hebrews 12:1-2
“Therefore, since we are surrounded by such a huge crowd of witnesses to the life of faith, let us strip off every weight that slows us down, especially the sin that so easily trips us up. And let us run with endurance the race God has set before us. 2 We do this by keeping our eyes on Jesus, the champion who initiates and perfects our faith. Because of the joy awaiting him, he endured the cross, disregarding its shame. Now he is seated in the place of honor beside God’s throne. 3 Think of all the hostility he endured from sinful people, then you won’t become weary and give up.”
Lets
keep our eyes on Jesus and lets never give up!
I
will fix my eyes on Jesus and I will never give up! How about you?
Prayer
Heavenly
Father, help me to always look to You and never give up! I pray for those that
may be reading this blog that find themselves depressed and maybe wanting to
give up. I pray that You encourage them with Your Word. Show them that they
have a lot to live for. Show them that what is important still lies ahead of
them. Show them that You plan to take care of them. Nothing is too hard for
You. Thank You for encouraging me every time I open up and read Your Word. You
have filled my life with so many great and wonderful promises. My future is
bright. It is in Your Hands.
