Observation
You
and I are capable of committing any sin! We are capable of doing some
horrendous, horrible things!
Maybe
your response to what I just said is, “Oh, I could never do that …
or I would never do that!”
The
truth is that when we neglect our relationship with God we put
ourselves in a very dangerous place.
Yes,
you and I are capable of murder, rape, adultery, fraud, addiction to
alcohol, drugs, gambling, pornography and a zillion other sins when
we do not accept His Divine guidance.
Maybe
you have recently said, “I can't believe that he did that! I can't
believe that she did that!”
My
friend, all it takes for us to be where are wayward friend is … is
for us to refuse to accept the Divine guidance that God provides for
us in His Word.
The
Bible is not a book of suggestions!
Whoever
obeys the Word of God is full of joy!

Corinthians 10
12 If you
think you are standing strong, be careful not to fall. 13 The
temptations in your life are no different from what others
experience. And God is faithful. He will not allow the temptation to
be more than you can stand. When you are tempted, he will show you a
way out so that you can endure.

19 My
dear brothers and sisters, if someone among you wanders away from the
truth and is brought back, 20 you
can be sure that whoever brings the sinner back from wandering will
save that person from death and bring about the forgiveness of many
sins.
Application
I
know that if I choose not to accept Divine guidance I am in for
trouble. How about you?
Prayer
Heavenly
Father, keep me away from stupid sins. Guide me with Your Word. I
know that Your
word is a lamp for my feet and a light on my path. Help
me to hide your word in my heart, that I might not sin against
you. I pray for those who have decided to not accept Your Divine
guidance and who are now living in sin. Help them to repent and turn
back to You. Bring joy back into their lives!
