Let Us Run With Endurance The Race God Has Set Before Us. We Do This By Keeping Our Eyes On Jesus

Let Us Run With Endurance
The Race God Has Set Before Us.
We Do This By Keeping Our Eyes On Jesus
Scripture
Hebrews 12
1 Therefore, since we are surrounded by such a huge crowd of witnesses to the life of faith, let us strip off every weight that slows us down, especially the sin that so easily trips us up. And let us run with endurance the race God has set before us.
2 We do this by keeping our eyes on Jesus, the champion who initiates and perfects our faith. Because of the joy awaiting him, he endured the cross, disregarding its shame. Now he is seated in the place of honor beside God’s throne.
3 Think of all the hostility he endured from sinful people; then you won’t become weary and give up.
Hebrews 13
20 Now may the God of peace—who brought up from the dead our Lord Jesus, the great Shepherd of the sheep, and ratified an eternal covenant with his blood —
21 may he equip you with all you need for doing his will. May he produce in you, through the power of Jesus Christ, every good thing that is pleasing to him. All glory to him forever and ever! Amen.
Jude 1
24 Now all glory to God, who is able to keep you from falling away and will bring you with great joy into his glorious presence without a single fault.
25 All glory to him who alone is God, our Savior through Jesus Christ our Lord. All glory, majesty, power, and authority are his before all time, and in the present, and beyond all time! Amen.
Observation

If you need a challenge to live your life differently and make it count then you will sure find it in Hebrews 12 and 13! Oh, and just in case this morning finds you really struggling either spiritually, emotionally, or physically, I have included two prayers, one from Hebrews 13 and one from Jude!
The writer of Hebrews describes our life as a race and I agree 100%. It is a race that is tough. It is grueling. It is not a wind sprint. It is a marathon!
I don't know about you, but I am in it to win it! That is why I am going to spend time in God's Word every single day and I am not going to miss!
You and I are not in this race alone. We have all of those who have run the race before us and right now we have a team, we have the family of God – the local church, who can support us and who can encourage us to finish well.
Make sure that you are part of a church family so that you can get all the support you need to finish well!
Today is Saturday, but Sunday is coming! Plan now to get yourself in church where you can grow spiritually and better prepare to run this race called – LIFE!
Application
I will keep my eyes on Jesus so that I will not become weary and give up!
How about you?
Prayer

Heavenly Father, thank You for all of the godly people that You have placed in my life. Thank You for every person who has taken the time to help me grow in my relationship with You over all these years. Help me to keep my eyes on Jesus when life gets tough. Don't ever let me become weary and give up. I want to finish well.
This is my prayer for you, “May the God of peace—who brought up from the dead our Lord Jesus, the great Shepherd of the sheep, and ratified an eternal covenant with his blood —  may he equip you with all you need for doing his will. May he produce in you, through the power of Jesus Christ, every good thing that is pleasing to him. All glory to him forever and ever!” (Hebrews 13:20-21 personalized)
