Therefore I, A Prisoner For Serving The Lord, Beg You To Lead A Life Worthy Of Your Calling, For You Have Been Called By God.

Therefore I, A Prisoner For Serving The Lord,
Beg You To Lead A Life Worthy Of Your Calling,
For You Have Been Called By God.
Scripture
Ephesians 3
14 When I think of all this, I fall to my knees and pray to the Father,

15 the Creator of everything in heaven and on earth.

16 I pray that from his glorious, unlimited resources he will empower you with inner strength through his Spirit.

17 Then Christ will make his home in your hearts as you trust in him. Your roots will grow down into God’s love and keep you strong.

18 And may you have the power to understand, as all God’s people should, how wide, how long, how high, and how deep his love is.

19 May you experience the love of Christ, though it is too great to understand fully. Then you will be made complete with all the fullness of life and power that comes from God.

20 Now all glory to God, who is able, through his mighty power at work within us, to accomplish infinitely more than we might ask or think.
21 Glory to him in the church and in Christ Jesus through all generations forever and ever! Amen.
Ephesians 4
1 Therefore I, a prisoner for serving the Lord, beg you to lead a life worthy of your calling, for you have been called by God.
Observation
I know that you know this but just in case you need a reminder, when you see the word “therefore” in Scripture you need to go back and read to see what it is 'there for'!
In front of this 'therefore' the Apostle Paul is praying for us and he is telling us about all that we are in Christ and all that we have in Christ.
Then he says, “therefore I beg you to lead a life worthy of your calling, for you have been called by God.”
Therefore …
Ephesians 4
25 So stop telling lies. Let us tell our neighbors the truth, for we are all parts of the same body.
26 And “don’t sin by letting anger control you.” Don’t let the sun go down while you are still angry,
27 for anger gives a foothold to the devil.
28 If you are a thief, quit stealing. Instead, use your hands for good hard work, and then give generously to others in need.
29 Don’t use foul or abusive language. Let everything you say be good and helpful, so that your words will be an encouragement to those who hear them.
30 And do not bring sorrow to God’s Holy Spirit by the way you live. Remember, he has identified you as his own, guaranteeing that you will be saved on the day of redemption.
31 Get rid of all bitterness, rage, anger, harsh words, and slander, as well as all types of evil behavior.
32 Instead, be kind to each other, tenderhearted, forgiving one another, just as God through Christ has forgiven you.
Application
I will pray Ephesians 3:14-20 back to God as a prayer for you!
How about you? Who are you praying for?
Prayer

Heavenly Father, this is my prayer for any person who may happen to read this blog this morning.
I pray that from Your glorious, unlimited resources You will empower my friend(s) with inner strength through Your Spirit. I pray that Christ will make His home in each of their hearts as they trust in You. And their roots will grow down into Your love and keep them strong.
And I pray that my friend(s) may have the power to understand, as all God’s people should, how wide, how long, how high, and how deep Your love is.
I pray he or she may experience the love of Christ, though it is too great to understand fully. And may they be made complete with all the fullness of life and power that comes from You. Now all glory to You, because You are able, through Your mighty power at work within us, to accomplish infinitely more than we might ask or think. (Ephesians 3:14-20 personalized)
