God’s Purpose Was To Use The Church
To Display His Wisdom In Its Rich Variety
To All The Unseen Rulers And Authorities In The Heavenly Places.

There is a lot that goes on in this world that is driven by Rulers and Authorities that are unseen. What just happened in California and Paris is way bigger than any government conspiracy or any human ideology! So to all of my conspiracy friends out there in cyber-space who work night and day blaming our government for every evil thing that happens in the world from the 9-11 attack, to every mass shooting, I have news for you, it is way bigger and way more evil than you can even imagine – way bigger than our government and way bigger than all human governments combined!

Scripture

Ephesians 3

¹⁰ God’s purpose in all this was to use the church to display his wisdom in its rich variety to all the unseen rulers and authorities in the heavenly places. ¹¹ This was his eternal plan, which he carried out through Christ Jesus our Lord.

¹² Because of Christ and our faith in him, we can now come boldly and confidently into God’s presence.

Observation

There is a lot that goes on in this world that is driven by Rulers and Authorities that are unseen. What just happened in California and Paris is way bigger than any government conspiracy or any human ideology!

So to all of my conspiracy friends out there in cyber-space who work night and day blaming our government for every evil thing that happens in the world from the 9-11 attack, to every mass shooting, I have news for you, it is way bigger and way more evil than you can even imagine – way bigger than our government and way bigger than all human governments combined!

For we are not fighting against people made of flesh and blood, but against persons without bodies—the evil rulers of the unseen world, those mighty satanic beings and great evil princes of darkness who rule this world; and against huge numbers of wicked spirits in the spirit world. Ephesians 6:10

Every government on this planet is flawed and to some degree evil. Some governments are more evil than others. If you think our government is bad just go live somewhere else for a while. It might improve your opinion of ours. Although I would agree that the government that we live under like all other human governments in today’s world is not driven by a reverent fear of the God that I serve.

And don’t forget this fact …

Obey the government, for God is the one who has put it there. There is no government anywhere that God has not placed in power. Romans 13:1

How about this …

Right in the middle of this evil world God has placed His church.

He has put us on display! 

So let your light shine before men, that they may see your good works, and glorify your Father who is in heaven. Matthew 5:16

Application

My perspective of this evil world and how I respond to it will come from the Word of God. How about you?

Prayer

Heavenly Father, I am surrounded by an evil world. I know that this doesn’t come as a surprise to You. I know that in this world we will have trouble. I also know that Jesus has overcome this evil world. I am more than a conqueror because of the Lord Jesus Christ. I know that 24/7 I can boldly come to You throne. None of this fazes me because Jesus loves me. I’m absolutely convinced that nothing—nothing living or dead, angelic or demonic, today or tomorrow, high or low, thinkable or unthinkable—absolutely nothing can get between us and God’s love because of the way that Jesus our Master has embraced us. (John 16:33, Ephesians 3:12, Romans 8:37 Personalized)
