Sirs, What Must I Do To Be Saved? Believe In The Lord Jesus And You Will Be Saved …

Sirs, What Must I Do To Be Saved?
Believe In The Lord Jesus
And You Will Be Saved …
Scripture
Acts 16
22 A mob quickly formed against Paul and Silas, and the city officials ordered them stripped and beaten with wooden rods. 23 They were severely beaten, and then they were thrown into prison. The jailer was ordered to make sure they didn’t escape. 24 So the jailer put them into the inner dungeon and clamped their feet in the stocks.

25 Around midnight Paul and Silas were praying and singing hymns to God, and the other prisoners were listening. 26 Suddenly, there was a massive earthquake, and the prison was shaken to its foundations. All the doors immediately flew open, and the chains of every prisoner fell off!
27 The jailer woke up to see the prison doors wide open. He assumed the prisoners had escaped, so he drew his sword to kill himself. 28 But Paul shouted to him, “Stop! Don’t kill yourself! We are all here!”
29 The jailer called for lights and ran to the dungeon and fell down trembling before Paul and Silas.30 Then he brought them out and asked, “Sirs, what must I do to be saved?”
31 They replied, “Believe in the Lord Jesus and you will be saved, along with everyone in your household.”
Observation

This is one of my all time favorite stories in the Bible. How about you?
If you read the Bible at all it has to be one of your favorites too! It is amazing!
It may surprise you but just like what happened to Paul and Silas, God could allow something pretty bad to happen in our lives just so someone else can see Jesus in us!
Paul and Silas were beaten with rods and then they were thrown into the deepest, darkest part of that jail all for the sake of the salvation of a jailer and his family.
Think about that … what you are going through right now might not be good … in fact it could be very bad, but God could possibly use your experience and what you are going through to help someone else.
Maybe even to help someone come to faith in Jesus Christ and there is nothing better than that.
Paul and Silas were singing praises to God and praying at midnight after being badly beaten with rods by a bunch of angry people when God sent an earthquake to open up those prison doors.
But God sent the earthquake not to free Paul and Silas; no, He sent the earthquake to free the jailer!
Romans 8:28 “And we know that in all things God works for the good of those who love him, who have been called according to his purpose.
Application
I know that God is going to use whatever happens to me to help someone else. God never waste a hurt!
Prayer
Heavenly Father, I know some folks that are going through some very difficult times right now. I pray that they will hold on to Romans 8:28 as they go through this rough time. Help them to sing Your praises even though things look very dim. Give them the strength to walk by faith even though they can't see any good in what they are going through. Thank You for taking care of us and for meeting our needs. You are a mighty God. Nothing is too hard for You! Nothing ...
