But If You Suffer For Doing Good And Endure It Patiently, God Is Pleased With You.

But If You Suffer
For Doing Good And Endure It Patiently,
God Is Pleased With You.
Scripture
1 Peter 2
19 For God is pleased when, conscious of his will, you patiently endure unjust treatment.

20 Of course, you get no credit for being patient if you are beaten for doing wrong. But if you suffer for doing good and endure it patiently, God is pleased with you.

21 For God called you to do good, even if it means suffering, just as Christ suffered for you. He is your example, and you must follow in his steps.
Observation
Suffering … none of us like to suffer … especially when it comes at the hands of someone else.
Do you know of someone who is being mistreated right now?
Maybe that somebody is you?
It can be verbal abuse, physical abuse, or rejection … if any of those include you or someone you love then I have some good news. God cares!
If you and I are suffering because someone is mistreating us and we handle it well (we don't get mean and try to retaliate) then God is pleased with us.
And if someone we know is being mistreated or if someone we know is suffering with health issues then God has given us the privilege and the responsibility of praying for them.
We should pray and ask God to intervene on his or her behalf. 1 Peter 2:9 tells us that we are “priests” … so who do we know that needs for us to pray for them?
Application
I will pray for my friends who are suffering. How about you?
Prayer
Heavenly Father, You know who I am thinking about right now. Help them Lord. Give them the strength to handle mistreatment in a way that pleases You. I pray that the suffering that they are going through will end soon. I pray for those who are dealing with physical suffering because of a disease that has attacked their body. Help them deal with it in a way that pleases You. I pray for healing for my friends dealing with these both types of suffering. May they please You with how they handle it.
Daily Bible Reading: Leviticus 1,2,3; Acts 13 … I added Psalm 6, Psalm 36, Proverbs 6; 1 Peter 2
