They Do Not Fear Bad News; They Confidently Trust The Lord To Care For Them.

They
Do Not Fear Bad News;
They Confidently Trust The Lord To Care For Them.

Scripture
Psalm 112
7 They do not fear bad news; they confidently trust the Lord to care for them.
Observation
They do not fear bad news” - Just who is the Psalmist talking about … just who are the “they”?
To find out the answer it would only take you a minute or two to completely read Psalm 112, because it is only 10 verses long.
But I am going to tell you who the “they” are; the answer is found in the first verse of the Psalm.
Praise the Lord! How joyful are those who fear the Lord and delight in obeying his commands. Their children will be successful everywhere; an entire generation of godly people will be blessed. They themselves will be wealthy, and their good deeds will last forever. Light shines in the darkness for the godly. They are generous, compassionate, and righteous. Good comes to those who lend money generously and conduct their business fairly. Such people will not be overcome by evil. Those who are righteous will be long remembered. They do not fear bad news; they confidently trust the Lord to care for them. They are confident and fearless and can face their foes triumphantly. They share freely and give generously to those in need. Their good deeds will be remembered forever. They will have influence and honor. The wicked will see this and be infuriated. They will grind their teeth in anger; they will slink away, their hopes thwarted.”
You just read Psalm 112!
And if you have placed your faith and your trust in the Lord Jesus Christ as your Savior and your Lord and you are walking in obedience, then you are part of the “they”!
You and I have no need to fear bad news if we are part of the “godly – they”!
Psalm 56:3
But when I am afraid, I will put my trust in you.
Isaiah 41:10
Don’t be afraid, for I am with you. Don’t be discouraged, for I am your God. I will strengthen you and help you. I will hold you up with my victorious right hand.
Psalm 46:1-3
God is our refuge and strength, always ready to help in times of trouble. So we will not fear when earthquakes come and the mountains crumble into the sea. Let the oceans roar and foam. Let the mountains tremble as the waters surge!

Application
I will confidently trust the Lord to care for me. … How about you?
Proverbs 3:5-6
Trust in the Lord with all your heart; do not depend on your own understanding. Seek his will in all you do, and he will show you which path to take.
Psalm 13:5
But I trust in your unfailing love. I will rejoice because you have rescued me.
Psalm 28:7
The Lord is my strength and shield. I trust him with all my heart. He helps me, and my heart is filled with joy. I burst out in songs of thanksgiving.
Psalm 34:10
Even strong young lions sometimes go hungry, but those who trust in the Lord will lack no good thing.
Prayer
Heavenly Father, I will not live in fear of bad news. I am confident, Lord, that You will take care of me and I am confident that You will take care of Kathy. It is because You have adopted us as Your very own children. We are Your children and we know that You are going to take care of us.
