13
4 Give
honor to marriage, and remain faithful to one another in marriage.
God will surely judge people who are immoral and those who commit
adultery.
Observation
If
you are married then God expects you to make your commitment to your
spouse your number one ministry. It is your number one priority! God
first, your spouse second, and everybody else after that. I have
sadly watched some couples, couples that I had invested time and
energy trying to help, neglect their marriage commitment and get
involved with someone else.
Yes, Hebrews
13:4 was written to us believers. The last part of the verse
is a stern warning to us as followers of Christ. It is directed to me
and you, not somebody else.
If you have been
neglecting your relationship with your spouse, if you have been
unfaithful, repent, get things right with him or her, so God's hand
of blessing will be on you. Don't believe Satan's lie and think that
God is going to look the other way and ignore your sin.
There is still
time to get things right with your spouse – I don't care if you
have gone through a divorce – if he or she is not married already to
someone else then pursue him or her and get things right. You still
have a chance to get it right.

Peter 3:7
In
the same way, you husbands must give honor to your wives. Treat
your wife with
understanding as you live together. She may be weaker than you are,
but she is your equal partner in God’s gift of new life. Treat her
as you should so your prayers will not be hindered.

Application
Kathy,
loving her as I should, is my number one priority. If I mess that up
then I don't have anything!

In
the same way, husbands ought to love their wives as they love their
own bodies. For a man who loves his wife actually shows love for
himself.
Prayer
Heavenly
Father, I believe in miracles. I believe that You can put new life in
dead relationships. I know that it is Your desire that marriages stay
together. I pray for couples who are struggling. I pray that You help
them. Work in their lives so they get their priorities straight.
Bring people into their lives that will help them get back on track.
Don't let them give up on marriage. Show them what to do to make
their marriage the best. Help me to set an example of how a guy
should love his wife.
