For This Is How God Loved The World: He Gave His One And Only Son, So That Everyone Who Believes In Him Will Not Perish But Have Eternal Life. John 3:16

For This Is How God Loved The World: He Gave His One
And Only Son, So That Everyone Who Believes In Him
Will Not Perish But Have Eternal Life.

Scripture
John 3
3 Jesus replied, “I tell you the truth, unless you are born again, you cannot see the Kingdom of God.”

4 “What do you mean?” exclaimed Nicodemus. “How can an old man go back into his mother’s womb and be born again?”
5 Jesus replied, “I assure you, no one can enter the Kingdom of God without being born of water and the Spirit.
6 Humans can reproduce only human life, but the Holy Spirit gives birth to spiritual life.
7 So don’t be surprised when I say, ‘You must be born again.’
13 No one has ever gone to heaven and returned. But the Son of Man has come down from heaven.

14 And as Moses lifted up the bronze snake on a pole in the wilderness, so the Son of Man must be lifted up,

15 so that everyone who believes in him will have eternal life.

16 “For this is how God loved the world: He gave his one and only Son, so that everyone who believes in him will not perish but have eternal life.
17 God sent his Son into the world not to judge the world, but to save the world through him.
18 “There is no judgment against anyone who believes in him. But anyone who does not believe in him has already been judged for not believing in God’s one and only Son.
36 And anyone who believes in God’s Son has eternal life. Anyone who doesn’t obey the Son will never experience eternal life but remains under God’s angry judgment.”
Observation
This verse, John 3:16, shows me and shows you exactly what it takes to have Eternal life. And by the way, it also shows us how to have an abundant life while we are here on planet earth!
Look at the verse, think about it, do you have what it takes to go to Heaven when you die?
Not mentioned one time in John 3:16 is anything about us being good enough to earn a place in Heaven. It is not good people that go to Heaven and bad people that go to Hell.
It is only forgiven people that go to Heaven and that forgiveness is available only when we place our faith and trust in Jesus Christ.
When you and I personally believe that Jesus left Heaven, came down to this earth, lived a sinless life, died on a cross to pay the penalty for our sins, and came back to life on the third day, when we believe like that, we have eternal life!
Do you believe?
If you were to die today where would you spend eternity – Heaven or Hell?
If you were at Heaven's gate and God were to ask you, “Why should I let you into my Heaven?” What would you say to Him?
Ephesians 2:8-9
8 God saved you by his grace when you believed. And you can’t take credit for this; it is a gift from God.
9 Salvation is not a reward for the good things we have done, so none of us can boast about it.
Titus 3:5-6
5 then he saved us—not because we were good enough to be saved but because of his kindness and pity—by washing away our sins and giving us the new joy of the indwelling Holy Spirit,

6 whom he poured out upon us with wonderful fullness—and all because of what Jesus Christ our Savior did
Romans 10:9-10,13
9 If you openly declare that Jesus is Lord and believe in your heart that God raised him from the dead, you will be saved.

10 For it is by believing in your heart that you are made right with God, and it is by openly declaring your faith that you are saved.

13 For “Everyone who calls on the name of the Lord will be saved.”
John 10:10
10 The thief’s purpose is to steal and kill and destroy. My purpose is to give them a rich and satisfying life.
Application
I will share John 3:16 and other verses to help people know that Jesus loves them and has a wonderful plan for their life.
How about you? Do you know Him?
Prayer

Heavenly Father, thank You for sending Your Son Jesus Christ to die in my place. I don't deserve eternal life, I don't deserve Your kindness, but I am glad that you provided it for me. I am grateful for being allowed to be one of Your children. Thank You for paying the penalty for my sins so I could enjoy the relationship that I now have with You. Thank You for saving me.

I pray for any person who may read this blog. Open up his or her spiritual eyes so that they can understand what You did for them. Help them to place their faith and their trust in Jesus for their salvation.
